Update via SFTP directly from Fix Central

If the HMC has a direct Internet connection (not via proxy), updates can be performed using SFTP directly via IBM Fix Central. Manual download of iFixes or service packs is not necessary in that case.

After the iFix or service pack is selected, the download option “Download using bulk FTPS/SFTP” must be selected, see Download using FTPS or SFTP. The information required for the download with “hmc updhmc” will then be provided:

IBM Fix Central - FTPs/SFTP download location informations
IBM Fix Central - FTPs/SFTP download location informations

The displayed information (FTPS/SFTP server, User ID and Password) can then be specified at “hmc updhmc”:

$ hmc updhmc hmc01 sftp://rjdHuJjj:ro7IkOyyldANEcn@delivery04.dhe.ibm.com/MF70632_ppc.iso

Note: Instead of the host name delivery04.dhe.ibm.com, the IP address can of course also be specified.

It makes little sense to store this as the default in CorrectiveServiceLocation, since the user and password change every time and the server does not always have to be the same.
