Create your own Security Level (Profile)

In many cases, none of the standard security levels meet the system requirements. In these cases, the following two options are available:

    • Copy one of the default security levels into your own XML file and adapt it to your own requirements. This is useful if the majority of security settings already fit one of the predefined security levels in most settings.
    • Creating a new XML file from scratch. This is useful if your requirements differ significantly from the security settings of the predefined security levels.

In both cases, the rules should have their own type designation (AIXPertRuleType).

Custom XML files for the AIX Security Expert should be stored in the /etc/security/aixpert/custom directory.
