The command “hmc lsmediadev” lists the media devices available on the HMC such as USB, DVD, etc.:

$ hmc lsmediadev hmc01
DEVICE    TYPE  MOUNT_POINT  DESCRIPTION  LABEL
/dev/sda  6     -            disk drive   -
$

After loading an ISO image via the associated BMC of a 7063-CR2 HMC, the following devices are displayed:

$ hmc lsmediadev hmc01
DEVICE    TYPE  MOUNT_POINT  DESCRIPTION  LABEL
/dev/sda  6     -            disk drive   -
/dev/sdb  3     -            USB device   CDROM
$

The virtual medium is displayed as a USB device.
