The command “vios ​​lsviosimg” can be used to display the installation images available for a virtual I/O server on the associated HMCs:

 vios lsviosimg [-v] <vios>

If the specified virtual I/O server is connected to two HMCs, the installation images of both HMCs are displayed:

$ vios lsviosimg vio1
NAME           HMC    SIZE     IMAGE_FILES
VIOS_4.1.0.0   hmc01  3487.55  dvdimage.v1.iso
VIOS_3.1.4.20  hmc01  5985.77  dvdimage.v2.iso,dvdimage.v1.iso

$ 

The example output shows that for the virtual I/O server vio1 the image for version VIOS_4.1.0.0 is available via both HMCs, but the other two installation images are only available via one of the HMCs.

The similar command “hmc lsviosimg” can be used to display the installation images available on a specific HMC.
