5.5.1. Physical Shared Processor Pool

Every managed system has a so-called physical shared processor pool, see Figure 5.12 below. The physical shared processor pool consists of all processors (cores) that are not used as dedicated processors (cores). Inactive CoD processors or deconfigured processors also do not belong to the physical shared processor pool.

All shared processor LPARs get their processor shares from the physical shared processor pool. The number of processors (cores) in this pool is the maximum pool capacity.
