5.2.5. Removing Virtual Processors and Processing Units

Removing processor resources works in the same way as adding them. There are two commands for this: “lpar rmprocs” (remove processors) and “lpar rmprocunits” (remove processing units). Even when removing processor resources, one must ensure that the ratio between virtual processors and processing units remains within the permitted range.

As described for removing dedicated processors, removing virtual processors can also fail, if there are processes that are bound to a virtual processor.
