Download the Firmware from Fix Central
Note: Web pages are dynamic and are occasionally updated (or removed). The following description for the download from the IBM Fix Central Support page was created in May 2023. If IBM makes changes to Fix Central after May 2023, the appearance may be different and/or the download process may be changed. In this case, the following description may not be entirely correct, or in the worst case, it may be completely outdated and incorrect.
The firmware for a 7063-CR2 HMC can be downloaded from the IBM Fix Central Website. Enter the term “7063” in the “Product selector” field and then select “7063-CR2” from the pull-down menu.
Important: Be sure to select one of the menu items from the pull-down menu. Only then will another selection be displayed!
Select “OP940” to download the firmware.
The available fixes (firmware) are then displayed. The most recent fix is at the top. The desired firmware version must be selected and the selection must be confirmed by pressing “Continue“.
Next, one of the three download options offered must be selected. We decided to download using a browser. The selection is confirmed by pressing the “Continue” button.
You will be asked for the country and the serial number of the HMC. After entering the 7-digit serial number of the HMC, you can continue by pressing “Continue”.
The last thing you need to do is accept IBM’s license terms before the actual download. By pressing the “I agree” button, the user agrees to the listed conditions.
The available files are then listed and can be downloaded individually. The mowgli-IBM-OP9_v2.5_4.125_prod.pnor.squashfs.tar file is the system or PNOR firmware, the obmc-mowgli-op950.hmc-24.ubi.mtd.tar file is the BMC firmware.
