The purpose of this guide is to help the user get started using the LPAR-Tool. All steps, from download to installation,
setup and first use, are described. This takes only a few minutes. No complicated configuration is necessary!

The LPAR-Tool is written in C ++ and has been compiled for the following operating systems:

• • AIX
  • Linux x86
  • MacOS

The LPAR-Tool uses OpenSSH for connection to the HMCs, so a working version of OpenSSH must be installed. A
login via OpenSSH to the HMCs must be possible, otherwise the LPAR-Tool can not work.

The installation of the LPAR-Tool does not necessarily require administration privileges (root), the LPAR-Tool can
also be installed in a home directory (or any other directory).
