With the command “hmc rmviosimg” VIOS installation images can be deleted from the HMC hard drive:

   hmc rmviosimg [-v] <hmc> <image_selections>

Only one image can be deleted at a time:

$ hmc rmviosimg hmc02 VIOS_3.1.4.30
$

Images can be specified by name or by selection:

$ hmc rmviosimg hmc02 name~4.1.0.0
$

Which VIOS installation images are available can be displayed with the command “hmc lsviosimg”.
