Reaching the Restricted OF Prompt by pressing the “9” Key

Alternatively, the Restricted Open Firmware Prompt can also be accessed by pressing the “9” (Restricted Open Firmware Prompt) key when activating or resetting an LPAR. As soon as the legend with the possible key combinations is displayed in the console session, the Restricted Open Firmware prompt can be reached by pressing the “9” key for a few seconds:

          1 = SMS Menu                          5 = Default Boot List
          9 = Restricted Open Firmware Prompt   6 = Stored Boot List

The system then goes into Restricted Open Firmware Mode:

          9 = Restricted Open Firmware Prompt   6 = Stored Boot List
