Download recovery image HMC_Recovery_V10R2M1030_ppc.iso from Fix Central.
Burn to DVD or copy to USB stick. Or use as virtual medium with 7063-CR2 BMC.
Start the HMC and stop in Petitboot (cursor up):
Insert media. After a short time, the inserted medium will appear in the upper area of Petitboot. If not, the menu item “Rescan devices” should be selected. Select the “Install Hardware Management Console” variant and confirm with Enter.
Booting from the recovery image may take two or three minutes. The screen will then change and an ASCII dialog box will appear on a blue background. The installation can be continued by selecting “Next”; the installation can be aborted by selecting “Cancel” (the HMC will then be rebooted). Pressing Enter should confirm the “Next” selection to continue the reinstallation:
Next you have to choose whether an upgrade (“Upgrade to a new version”) or a new installation (“Install”) should be carried out. An upgrade is preselected (small red cursor).
By pressing the TAB key, the small red cursor can be changed to the “Install” line. You then have to press the space bar to select a new installation. Pressing TAB again takes you to the “Next” button and you can confirm your selection with Enter.
Next you will be asked whether the installation should be started. A message will appear stating that all data on the HMC hard drive will be overwritten. The query can be confirmed by selecting “Finish” (default) and pressing Enter.
The installation process is started and the status of the installation is visualized by a progress bar.
After the HMC has actually been installed, you will be asked whether critical console data should be restored. For a new installation, we select No (“Finish the installation without restoring data”) by pressing TAB followed by the space bar. The selection is then confirmed by pressing TAB followed by Enter.
The HMC then boots the newly installed version. After a short time, a query appears asking which display to use:

Query keyboard
Next you will see the license terms. By pressing the “Accept” button, the terms and conditions are accepted.
