Standalone NIM objects represent AIX NIM client systems and are arguably one of the most important NIM object types. The term “standalone” indicates that such a NIM client system can run with its own local resources, in contrast to diskless (all resources are remote) or dataless (paging and dump device local, / and /usr remote, and others local or remote).
