Depending on the Unix derivative, either the tar file or the OS-specific package can be installed (except MacOS).

If you only want to test the LPAR-Tool, we recommend installing the tar file in your home directory.

For AIX and Linux, we recommend using the compressed BFF file (AIX) or the compressed RPM file (Linux). The LPAR-Tool is then generally available to all users on the system.

For MacOS we recommend unpacking the compressed tar file under /opt/pwrcmps/bin.
