With the command “hmc chrr” HMC attributes that affect the remote restart capabilities can be changed.

   hmc chrr [-v] <hmc> <attributes> ...

Currently (HMC V10R3M1050) only the auto_cleanup_enabled attribute is supported:

$ hmc chrr hmc01 auto_cleanup_enabled=0
$

The current configuration can be viewed using hmc lsrr.
