IBM Electronic Service Agent (ESA)

The IBM Electronic Service Agent ESA is installed on each HMC. For systems that are under maintenance, this can be used at no additional cost. In the event of errors and problems, the Electronic Service Agent automatically contacts IBM Support and transfers log files necessary for error diagnosis. The advantages of using the Electronic Service Agent are obvious:

    • Faster diagnosis and help with errors.
    • IBM Support will be contacted automatically if there are any problems.
    • Depending on the specific problem, a case is automatically opened with IBM.
